First Visit

We look forward to welcoming you at Ascend Eye Center. There is a lot to you and your eyes that we need to learn and record at the first meeting! Thus, your first appointment is often the longest and may take 1-3 hours. We recommend that you bring reading materials, snacks/drinks, and a jacket as needed. If you need medications and/or oxygen, please plan accordingly.

For a thorough baseline examination, please expect to have your pupils dilated. This testing involves eyedrops that temporarily enlarge your pupils. Side effects include sensitivity to light and blurred near vision, expected to last approximately 4-24 hours in most patients. Please bring some dark sunglasses for use afterwards. You may want to plan for a driver to accompany you.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to help us get you and all the day's patients taken cared for as efficiently as possible. Additionally, if at all possible, please print out this REGISTRATION FORM and complete them ahead of time.

A driver if you do not feel comfortable driving while dilated
